Gov. Steve Sisolak announced this week that some COVID restrictions will be loosened starting on Monday, February 15, and shuttered Las Vegas production shows are working out plans to reopen with slightly increased audience capacities while still meeting other health and safety mandates.
An MGM Resorts spokesperson confirmed that two shows that closed with November’s statewide pause will return to the Luxor Theater next week. Carrot Top’s comedy show and the
Fantasy female revue are set to resume performances in front of a maximum audience of 100 on Friday, February 19. Both shows initially reopened in the larger Luxor venue moving from their shared home at the Atrium Showroom on November 6 before shutting down again around Thanksgiving when restrictions tightened up to allow just 50 people per show. Carrot Top will go on at 8 p.m. nightly (dark Sundays) with
Artist Rowena Morrill, 76, died February 11, 2021 following years of poor health. Morrill was one of the most prominent artists in the field, with an active career that spanned decades. Some of her work has been collected in Hugo Award finalist
The Fantastic Art of Rowena (1983) and
The Art of Rowena (2000).
Born September 14, 1944, Morrill graduated from the University of Delaware in 1971 with an art degree and attended the Tyler School of Arts MFA program (though she left before completing the degree). She moved to New York, where she worked in advertising. She soon began her career as a cover artist, starting in romance, and did her first genre cover for

“All Eyes Off Me,” Hadas Ben Aroya’s drama which will world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, has been acquired by Brussels-based company Best Friend Forever for international sales.
Set to bow in the Panorama section, “All Eyes Off Me” takes place in contemporary Tel Aviv and weaves three stories portraying Tel Aviv’s youth. The plot revolves around Danny who is searching for Max at a party to tell him that she’s pregnant with his child. But Max just started a new relationship with the wild Avishag, who actually has someone else in mind.
Gagarine Sales Agent Totem Films Boards Berlin Competition Entry Ballad of a White Cow (EXCLUSIVE)

Paris-based Totem Films announced Friday that it is handling sales on Iranian Behtash Sanaeeha and Maryam Moghaddam’s Berlin Film Festival competition entry, “Ballad of a White Cow.” Totem Films will bring the drama onto the market at early March’s European Film Market (EFM).
The pick-up is sure to draw attention. Launched in 2019 by Agathe Valentin, Laure Parleani and Berenice Vincent, sales and production company Totem Films made waves at the Cannes Film Market last year, scoring vast international sales on “Gagarine,” one of the Cannes Festival official selection’s biggest arthouse breakouts.
